Boccardi has led the news industry on critical First Amendment and freedom of the press matters. As leader of Associated Press worldwide operations for l8 of his more than 45 years in journalism he increased world news coverage by adding bureaus, state-of-the-art technology, and raising its standards for accuracy, fairness and quality, which had to have had a ripple effect over the decades amongst newspapers and broadcast stations worldwide.
